Why is SEO important?

03, Apr 2017
With many people not really understanding the concept of SEO as part of a digital strategy, one of the most common questions we get asked is ‘why is SEO important’ for my business.  After all, I have a website and people can read about the company.

The main thing to consider here is what you want your website to deliver for you.

Do you want to simply have a brochure website where people need to type in your exact domain to find you?  For example ‘myamazingwebsite.com’. After all, you have lots of glossy photos on there which look great!

Or do you want people to FIND you in search engines? If the answer is yes, then you need to have a website that WORKS for you.

Look at it in the same way as having a high street shop. There’s little point in having superb products in your shop if everyone on the high street just walks past you. You need VISITORS.

This is where SEO comes in.  It means that rather than relying on people precisely keying in your website domain ‘myamazingwebsite.com’ to find you, your digital strategy also aims to have your site showing in search engine results such as Google, Bing and Yahoo when people type in ‘I want an amazing website’ or ‘Amazing websites’ or ‘Great website development companies.

A digital marketing strategy is much more than putting a website live.  A website should be seen as a living thing, which requires TLC on a daily basis to develop it, nurture it and, ultimately, make it drive visitors, business, and revenue to your company.

Working with a professional digital SEO agency Birmingham such as MultiChannel Creative will allow you to achieve this – we will work together with you to help you achieve your business goals.
