SEO – search engine optimisation – is an intangible thing.  You’re not paying for a material item, more a listing on a search engine that will drive visitors to your website and, ultimately, increased revenues.

So, how do you know that your search engine optimisation campaign is working?  After all, you might be trying to get your website ranked for a multitude of keywords, and you want to know that you are getting a good ROI, as you would any other investment.

Well, if you want to do it manually at any time, then you can!  Just open a Google browser and type in the search phrase that you are aiming to be optimised on, and see where your website appears in the natural search engine listings.  This is great....assuming you are only targeting one keyword, which is unlikely.
